Kapuluán SF was founded by three friends with a passion for food and wine. Chef Alfred Rosanes and his partner, Christopher Rivas, came from Los Angeles in late 2022 with a mission to immerse himself in the beauty of the San Francisco dining scene. During the initial year Alfred met William Montes while they were both working at a Michelin star restaurant. Dreams came together and the rest is now part of herstory.
Chef Alfred Rosanes is a French trained chef and graduate of Le Cordon Bleu. His early career included time in kitchens across Southern California, serving as a personal chef, and as the Executive Chef for Noypitz Los Angeles, a Filipino Bistro that was located in the heart of Glendale. In the latter half of his career, he focused on the front of the house in order to hone his skills in the guest experience. He has been proud to translate vision and passion in three Michelin star restaurants in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The pop-up serves as his canvas to express his own vision and experiences introducing people to Neo-Filipino cuisine and all that he has learned along the way starting in his grandmother's kitchen to culinary explorations across the US and travel experiences in Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
Kapuluán SF is LGBTQ+ owned and operated.
